Departure of Anne-Marie Hayden

On behalf of the Canadian Museums Association (CMA), I wanted to let our members know that Anne-Marie Hayden, Deputy Director of Public Affairs and Museum Advancement, has announced her departure from the CMA.

Anne-Marie joined us in mid-2019, as part of our executive management team, in order to help with the association’s institutional renewal and to boost the CMA’s advocacy efforts, as well as to oversee the Young Canada Works (YCW) program. Anne-Marie will be staying on until the end of the month to ensure a smooth transition.

Anne-Marie led a number of transformative initiatives for the CMA including, for example, our new brand and strategic plan; countless public affairs and advocacy initiatives; various enhancements to our communications products; and other important office-wide management, program and process modernizations. She has a talent for seeing a broader, organizational vision, which she translated into reality and which resulted in countless improvements at the CMA well beyond her areas of responsibility.

I would like to thank Anne-Marie for all her efforts, guidance and leadership. I know she leaves behind a solid foundation and a strong team, continuing to carry out all the great work forward in our support of the museum community. On a personal note, I would like to add that I greatly I admire her many talents and her professional ethics and that it was a great pleasure to work with her.

The CMA wishes Anne-Marie all the best with her next adventure.
