CMA 2024 Conference: Call for Committee Members

In anticipation of the event, we are looking for six to eight (6-8) CMA Members to volunteer for the CMA 2024 Conference Planning Committee and support the development of a program around the Conference theme: The Future is Collaboration.

Volunteers will join one member from CMA Board Members, along with a representative from the CMA Fellows. Participants will be chosen based on staff recommendations to the Committee chair and are based on a diversity of factors, including:

  • Previous experience in conference event planning;
  • A consideration of diversity within the committee, including a representation of different regions, perspectives, language capacity and museum experience (as per the Committee’s Terms of Reference);
  • Representing the knowledge, experience and expertise in the identified areas of focus:
    • Climate Change and Sustainability
    • Indigenous Self-Determination and UNDRIP
    • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
    • Museum Governance
    • Financial Development and Advocacy
    • Exhibition Planning and Engagement
    • Small Museum Operations

How to Apply

CMA Members (individual members, CMA Fellows and/or voting representatives of institutional members) are asked to review the Terms of Reference and self-nomination of no more than 1 page, along with an updated resume or LinkedIn profile to conferences@museums.ca by Monday, May 1st.
