CMA expresses concern over loss of lives and heritage sites following Morocco earthquake
The Canadian Museums Association shares UNESCOs concerns over the loss of over 2,000 lives and significant damage to numerous heritage sites following a recent 6.8 magnitude earthquake in Morocco.
While damage is being assessed and the situation is still unfolding, recent reports from UNESCO via The Art Newspaper indicate that at least one heritage site has been completely decimated near the epicentre of the earthquake. We express our solidarity and support for assessment and recovery efforts to come.
