PRESERVING CANADIAN TREASURES
Preserving Canadian Treasures is a funding program to assist small museums with collections conservation and preservation.
With the generous support of Dr.Yosef Wosk, a philanthropist and museum trustee in British Columbia, the CMA is pleased to offer nine (9) grants of up to $1,000 each to undertake projects to conserve and preserve either an artifact or a collection of importance. Applications will be reviewed by a special CMA committee. Recipients are required to send a brief written report on the project within six (6) months of funding receipt.
Eligibility
This program is open to any small museum, gallery or related institution for the purpose of undertaking a special preservation or conservation project, with a budget between $500 and $1000. Necessary equipment is eligible. Funds may not be used for deficits/debt retirement, purchase of artefacts or ongoing operations. If successful, the recipient may not re-apply for three (3) years.

Criteria
Each applicant must:
- Have an operating budget of less than
$150,000$250,000. - Have at least one paid staff member with training.
- Be an institutional member of the CMA.
Application Instructions
To apply, you have TWO options:
1) You may use the Preserving Canadian Treasures Application Form
Please print it and either mail it or fax it to the CMA.
OR
2) You can simply submit an email or a Word document that includes:
- Your name, title, institution, CMA membership number, complete mailing address, fax number, website, and email address.
- A brief project description, no longer than two (2) pages that includes a short statement addressing how your institution will benefit from this grant .
- Any necessary supporting documentation (if available), such as annual report, financial statements, business plan, etc.
